Our Story
A chemist, a physicist, and a computer engineer—three co-founders who began their journey sharing the same dorm room at Koç University. After gaining extensive experience in the industry and academic research, we came together with a shared vision: to revolutionize the battery cell design process. Combining our diverse expertise, we created AION Engineering to provide innovative, efficient, and tailored solutions for modern energy storage challenges. In this business, we address real challenges in the industry by combining technical expertise with practical experience. Our solutions are grounded in a deep understanding of both the science and the demands of the energy sector, ensuring impactful results.

Kerem Buğra Batuş
Co-Founder
Cell Design and Process Development Specialist with a Chemistry degree from Koç University Gained expertise in electrochemistry through academic research and later optimized Li-ion battery production processes at a leading Turkish energy company. At AION Engineering, he applies his experience in cell design, process development, and mass production optimization to achieve company goals.
Ekrem Demirboğa
Co-Founder
Specialist in Battery Cell Modeling and Simulation with a Physics background from Koç University, where he focused on alternative gravity theories and published two first-author Q1 journal papers. Proficient in Python, C, MATLAB Simulink, Ansys, and COMSOL. Currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland, applying advanced modeling and computation skills at AION Engineering.
Metehan Gelgi
Co-Founder
Computer Science Engineer with an Industrial Engineering degree, currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at DTU. He has industry experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, and algorithm development, working with companies in energy and logistics sectors.
Skilled in Al model development and business growth, he leverages a strong startup ecosystem network to drive AION Engineering's success.
